Researchers for North America, Ireland and the British IslesKyle Betit, BS (Biology) - Kyle J. Betit is
a professional genealogist, lecturer and author residing in Salt Lake
City, Utah. He was a co-editor of the popular journal The Irish At
Home and Abroad, and is co-author of Ireland: A Genealogical
Guide. Kyle makes frequent trips to on-site research locales
throughout the United States, Canada, Ireland, France, and Eastern Europe to
conduct research for clients and give lectures. Kory Meyerink, BS, MLS,
AG®, FUGA, has been
involved in nearly every aspect of genealogy and family history for the
past 20 years. Kory is an accredited genealogist in four geographic
areas (Germany, Midwestern U.S., Eastern U.S. and New England U.S.). He
specializes in tracing the origins of German and Dutch immigrants.
Natalie Cottrill, BA, has
been conducting professional family history research in the United States and Canada
since 1989. She primarily studies family lineages from the
Mid-Atlantic, Mid-West, and New England areas as well as those from
Virginia, West Virginia and Kentucky. Natalie has considerable
experience in all aspects and all time periods of research in her
geographic specialty.
Paul C. Reed, FASG specializes in researching
families of Colonial America and the Southern States. He has been actively involved in genealogical
research for 25 years, and works as a full-time professional. He is adept at
solving complex and difficult research problems. He
has served as a contributing editor to the National Genealogical Society
Quarterly and currently fills that roll for The American Genealogist.
In 1999, he received the prestigious honor of being named a Fellow of
the American Society of Genealogists.
Gordon L. Remington, FUGA, FASG is
an accomplished genealogist and author, having started a full-time
professional practice in 1980.
He was a contributing
author to Ancestry’s authoritative publication, The Source, and
has authored over forty articles in scholarly and professional
genealogical journals. Mr. Remington is a
well-known scholar embracing New York research, New England, and Mid-Atlantic states research.
He was elected a Fellow of the American Society of Genealogists in
1999.
Charles E. Hughes, MA (History) works primarily
with the historical and genealogical records of England, Wales and
Scotland. He is has been involved with British research for many years
and is familiar with all aspects of British Genealogical research.
Joseph Shumway, AG began genealogy research at a young
age, and by age sixteen he found himself teaching classes and giving
lectures on various genealogical topics. In 2001, Joseph was honored by
the Wyoming State Historical Society and was presented the Young
Historian of the Year Award.
Clifford Stott, AG®, CG, FASG has worked in the field of genealogy since
1971 and has an extensive background working in the records of the
United States and England. Clifford received his accreditation in New
England research in 1988 and certification in 1999. He was elected a
Fellow of the American Society of Genealogists in 1998.
Jimmy B. Parker, BS,
AG®, FUGA, is currently the
Associate Publisher
of Everton’s Family History Magazine and Owner of Heritage Plus,
Bountiful, Utah. He is a Member of the Board of Trustees, of the Utah
Genealogical Association.
Jimmy is an Accredited Genealogist in Native American research, as well as
3 geographic regions of the United States - New England, Eastern States,
and Midwestern States.
Judith Hansen, BA (Family History), MLS,
AG®
focuses her research skills on complex Southern States research. After
completing a Bachelor’s degree in genealogy, she finished a Masters in
Library Science, and became Accredited in both Mid-South and Gulf South
U.S. research in 1993.
Neil D. Thompson, PhD, CG, LLB, FASG
has extensive experience working in Colonial United States records and
those of England, as well. He is an accomplished genealogist, author,
and a well-respected Fellow of the American Society of Genealogists
(membership limited to 50 worldwide).
John M. Kitzmiller, II,
AG®, FSG, FRSAI, FSA
(Scot) has been working as a professional genealogist for 20 years. He
has extensive background researching Pennsylvania and New York
Palatines, Germany and he is and well known lecturer on Heraldry,
Military Research, and family history research topics in England,
Scotland, Wales, and the United States.
Trish Tolley, BA (Family History) is a
professional genealogist and lecturer whose focus encompasses
significant portions of the United States, German and German speaking
areas, as well as DNA studies.
Neil Holden, BS (Geography) is a graduate of the
University of Utah, and a native of England. Neil specializes in
immigrant, Irish, American and Canadian research. He is also an aspiring
author.
Andrew S. Webb, BA (Family History) has worked as a professional genealogist since
1994. He specializes in colonial and early United States research but
has a wide range of genealogical experience including British, Scottish, French
Canadian, and Portuguese research.
Amanda Sims, MA (Family History) is a graduate of
Brigham Young University. She has been involved in genealogical research
for more then eight years and has conducted extensive research in the
records in most North American and European countries.
Meredith Maxfield, BA (Family History) recently
finished her Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University. She is now
a fulltime genealogical researcher in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Linda Turner, BS, AG® specializes in Midwest U.S.,
New England and British research and has
worked as a professional genealogist since 1996.
Linda Sharp, BA (Family History) specializes in
Southern U.S., New England and German research. She recently completed
her Bachelor's degree in family history and works as a fulltime
genealogical researcher in Salt Lake City, Utah. Courtney Newton, BA (Family History) is a recent graduate of Brigham Young University's Family History and Genealogy program. Her studies focused on Italian and United States Research. Her focus is primarily the Midwest States. She is currently working towards professional certification. Danielle Batson, BA (Family History), AG® specializes in Midwest U.S. research. She has a degree in Family History with a minor in Business Management from Brigham Young University and has conducted professional research since 1997. She received her Accredited Genealogist title in April 1997. Danielle conducts research in all aspects of 20th century U.S. and Canadian research and is currently working on learning more about Native American research in these areas.
Kathi Sittner, BA,
MEd is a genealogical researcher and research consultant
living in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has a wide range of experience in
U.S., English, Irish and German research. She managed Ancestry Inc.’s
research department for several years, has written articles for
Ancestry’s magazine, is a beta tester for a genealogy software company
and has written and edited a family newsletter for eight years.
Tricia
Petrey, BA (Family History), AG®
received a bachelor’s degree in Family History and Genealogy from
Brigham Young University and is an Accredited Genealogist specializing
in U.S. Southern States research. Researchers with European Specialties
E. Wade Hone has been professionally involved
in historical and genealogical research since 1984. His educational
background is in world history and linguistics. He is a national speaker
on various U.S., Scandinavian and Eastern European subjects, and has
produced numerous multimedia presentations.
Judith Wight, BA, AG®
(Family History) focuses
her professional research in Great
Britain and Ireland. Ms. Wight has worked as a professional genealogist
since 1973 and she has extensive research experience in U.S., Canada,
Australia, Ireland, England, and Scotland. Her Accredited Genealogist credentials include Ireland (as of 1979), Australia (1996) and
Scotland (1998).
Tadeusz Hubert Pilat, MLS, AG® was born in Raciborz,
Silesia, Poland (previously Ratibor, Schlesien, in Germany). He currently
resides in Tarnobrzeg, in eastern Poland. He pursued Library studies at the
University of Maria Curie-Sklodowska in Lublin, Poland, focusing on the history
of books and old documents. Tadeusz is an Accredited Genealogist
specializing in Polish research. In addition to being fluent in Polish, German,
and English, he can read Latin and Russian Cyrillic. Marion Wolfert, AG® has been an Accredited Genealogist since 1980. A native of Germany, she specializes in Germanic research, and works well with Swiss, Hungarian, Holland, Benelux, Austrian, Italian and Danish genealogy research. She conducts transcriptions and translations of foreign documents, as well as in-depth research, in the records of Germany, Switzerland, Poland and other European countries. Marion also undertakes onsite genealogical research trips to Germany, Switzerland and/or Czechoslovakia at least once a year, where she works in archives, church records, and will visit cemeteries as needed. Currently, she is a part-time volunteer at the Family History Library Church.
Helen M. Whittle, BA (Hons), Dip.Eur.Hum.,
F.Inst.L.Ex. has been a professional genealogist since 1989 and a
full-time professional since January 2000. Helen carries out
research in London and in Sussex, England, for family historians,
doctoral students, and authors, as well as for professional institutions
and public authorities.
Mary McAuliffe, BA (Hons), PhD conducts
genealogical and historical research and lives in Dublin, Ireland. She
has extensive background in Medieval history, and specializes in women's
history of the medieval period in Ireland.
