Price: $75.00 On-site International Research Evaluation
On-site International research is sometimes the key to learning more about your family history. ProGenealogists associates travel to many International destinations at various times throughout the year. We'd be happy to provide an evaluation to you regarding the feasibility and anticipated cost of conducting on-site research for you.
Each evaluation will include an extensive review of your family research material and an analysis of available International archives and records repositories for the area in which your family lived. Because of the preparation time, research and skill devoted to returning an in-depth reply to you, a $75 fee will be charged for this service. You will be requested to deposit that fee upon submission of this form.

A Comment About Rates: Typical professional rates for genealogists range from $40.00 per hour to over $200.00 per hour. Experienced genealogists and those with a particular specialty typically have higher fees than those who are less experienced or non-specialized. To become more familiar with this topic, you may wish to read So You're Going To Hire A Professional Genealogist, a publication of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG). You can compare our rates to some other full-service genealogy companies working at the Family History Library.
These rates effective on orders placed after 1 January 2009. All rates subject to change.
Billing:
Prepayment in full by check, credit card or money order in United States funds is required. Your retainer will be held in escrow until completion of the research session. Upon completion, all hourly research costs will be deducted from the deposit. Photocopy costs, postage and handling, long distance phone calls, certificate fees and correspondence costs are billed to you at the conclusion of each research session. Photocopies are $.30 (thirty cents) each, domestic phone calls are billed at $.15 (fifteen) cents per minute, overseas phone calls are billed at $.25 (twenty-five) cents per minute, and postage and handling fees are $7.00 for USPS 1st Class or Priority Envelope, $13.00 for USPS Priority Box, $15.00 for USPS Global Priority Envelope. For "Next Day" or Express, and FedEx shipments, the fee is cost of postage plus $2.00 handling. Other billed expenses will include on location sub-contracted research services and county, state or country fees for vital records certificates. You will be contacted for authorization if these costs might exceed 10% of your pre-paid deposit.
Guarantee:
We guarantee thorough and detailed work. No reputable genealogist can make any guarantee regarding the number of ancestors who can be added to your family tree. Every family is unique. Research success depends upon many factors: the common occurrence of the surname, the time period in which the couple lived, the status of records availability, and the geographic region in which the family lived. Because you are purchasing a genealogist's time and expertise, and not a tangible product, your prepaid research retainer is non-refundable.
